Conveying Method

    The parts inside the piano perfectly fit into each other. Improper conveying methods may cause changes of piano sound. Therefore, we suggest that you should convey it in the following ways:

· The weight inside the Kempff upright piano is not evenly distributed. Its back is heavier than the front. Such design aims to maintain the balance between the piano’s weight and volume. During transportation, it is forbidden to lean the piano body backwards lest it should slip down. When conveying a grand piano, lean the piano body a little so as to prevent piano legs from bumping into obstacles during transportation.

· The piano must be protected by a soft external package (provided at its delivery) during its transportation to avoid scratching the piano body. Transportation should be carried out in accordance with the indications on the external package. When conveying a grand piano, first disassemble the legs and then use a soft external package to protect the piano body.

· Timber used in the piano may be sensitive to temperature changes. If the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures is relatively high, please move the piano into the room without unpacking its external package. Keep it indoors for one day, and do not unpack the external package until the piano body temperature is close to room temperature. Otherwise, the piano body may be damaged due to sudden temperature changes.

· It is not recommended to disassemble the piano body for transportation at discretion without any special causes. If it is necessary to disassemble the piano body for transportation, the disassembly must be carried out by professionals, or you can also contact the local Kempff Piano service provider for assistance.

· When moving the piano indoors, try to push it forward slowly along the flat ground. Do not use too much force.
