Use Method
· At delivery, the upright bright piano is coated with a layer of protective film on its surfaces, which should be removed as soon as possible, lest it may stick to the piano body after long-time use.
· All parts of the piano have been subject to precise calculation by the manufacturer before systematic composition. Nonprofessionals are not allowed to disassemble these parts during the use.
· Please slowly open the piano cover, lest the varnish on the piano body is damaged. Before closing the piano cover, please first close the music desk, lest the open music desk should damage the keyboard surface.
· When closing the piano cover equipped with a slow fall device, do not press the piano cover by hand, lest the slow fall device should be damaged.
· The top of the upright or grand piano can be supported and opened. After opened, it can play a role in increasing the sound volume. During daily playing, it is not necessary to open the top of the upright piano. When playing in a larger room, the top can be opened to increase the sound volume. The top of the Kempff grand piano can be opened from three angles. After the top is opened, the sound volume will be higher and the tone will be better. When playing a solo, you can open the top of the grand piano to the maximum angle to achieve a better playing effect.
· Kempff Piano is equipped with three pedals.
The left pedal of the upright piano is the soft pedal. After it is stepped, the hammer beats the string in a closer distance and the sound becomes softer. The right pedal is the sustaining pedal. After it is stepped, the damper rises to prolong the vibration duration of the string. The middle pedal is the muffler pedal. After it is stepped, the damper starts to work, and the piano tone becomes weaker.
The left pedal of the grand piano is the shift pedal. After it is stepped, the keyboard will totally move rightwards, the hammer in the upper register beats two of the three strings and the hammer in the lower register beats the strings in another area, bringing delicate changes to piano sound volume and tone. The right pedal is the sustaining pedal, which has the same function as that in an upright piano. The middle pedal is the sostenuto pedal. After it is stepped, only the sound played previously will be sustained.
Hint: See the “User Manual of Kempff Piano Automatic Playing System” for the use method of the playing machine for automatic playing of Kempff Piano. Refer to this manual for the use of other parts.
· The best position for a piano is a place that faces the interior wall in the room, with an appropriate distance of 10-30CM between the piano body and the wall space.
· When placing the piano, make sure that every caster hits the ground. A cushion can be put on each caster to prevent the caster from damaging the floor.
· Whenever possible, choose a room with relatively stable temperature and humidity for the placement of the piano, so as to achieve the best playing effect of the piano. It is suggested that the indoor temperature should be about 20℃ and the humidity should be about 40%, with an upper limit of 70% and a lower limit of 35%.
· Do not put the piano near a heater or other heat sources, nor can it be put in an environment with abrupt temperature changes. Otherwise, the wood parts of the piano may deform due to sudden cooling or heating.
· Do not put the piano near the window, lest wood should be damped and deformed when the piano is damped by rainwater.
· Do not put the piano near the toilet or kitchen, lest the piano body should be damped.
· The piano should be kept away from direct sunshine, lest its varnish should be damaged.
